Cochrane-REWARD prize for reducing waste in research: call for nominations

The REWARD movement collects examples of measures that organisations have taken and are taking (and will take) to increase value and reduce waste. Cochrane funds the annual Cochrane-REWARD prize in 2017 and 2018 for good local or pilot initiatives that have the most potential to reduce waste in research if scaled up globally. The winners of the 2017 prizes will be announced at the 5th World Conference on Research Integrity.

Nominations can be send to Sylvia de Haan, deadline February 28, 2017.

All nominations will be assessed using the following criteria:

  1. The nominee has addressed at least one of the five stages of research waste (questions, design, conduct, publication, reporting) in the area of health;
  2. The nominee had pilot of more definitive data showing the initiative can lower waste;
  3. The initiative can be scaled up globally;
  4. The estimated potential reduction in research waste that the initiative might achieve.
