Symposium 'How to foster responsible research practices?' and Valedictorian lecture Lex Bouter

On September 23, 2022 the Netherlands Research Integrity Network (NRIN) organizes a symposium accompanying the valedictorian lecture of NRIN initiator and founder Lex Bouter, professor of Methodology and Integrity from the Amsterdam UMC and Vrije Universiteit. The symposium is designed around three themes, focusing on the different stakeholders in fostering responsible research practices: institutes, funders and journals. Speakers include Sabine Kleinert, Executive Editor of The Lancet, Malcolm Macleod, chair Research Ethics and Integrity Review Group, University Edinburgh, and Maura Hiney, chair of the writing committee of the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity and Head of Post-Award and Evaluation Health Research Board, Ireland. For a more detailed impression, and information about the speakers and their talks, find the full program here.

This symposium is open to all researchers with an interest in research integrity, and will take place in hybrid form: on location at the Vrije Unversiteit in Amsterdam, and through live streaming. The event will be held in English and participation is free. The symposium in the Auditorium ends around 15:00, and is followed by Lex Bouter's valedictorian lecture 'Why Research Integrity Matters' in the Aula from 15:30.

Note that to attend on location, only a limited number of seats will be available. We therefore recommend securing your reservation on time, by registering through this form.
