Trials Tracker: unreported registered trials

Last modified: November 8, 2018

A lot of results from medical trials remain unpublished. This problem is especially prevalent when it comes to negative test results. Research has shown that negative test results are twice as likely to remain unreported as those with positive results. Trials Tracker, an online tool developed at the Evidence-Based Medicine Data Lab from the University of Oxford, intends to address this problem by making information about trials public. The tool provides a very insightful overview of trial sponsors with the most unreported registered trials on For every sponsor the total number of eligible trials, and the number and percentage of missing trials are shown. In this way sponsors are motivated to publish their results.
