Julia Prieß-Buchheit’s is a professor of Education and Didactics at the University of Applied Sciences Coburg (Academic Centre for Sciences and Humanities), where she leads an interdisciplinary study program for all faculties. Her professorship is officially labelled research professorship. Her expertise is in learning ethics and integrity and in social technologies, and her research has an international focus and systematically investigates citizen education and professionalisation in contemporary societies. With her team, she develops design principles, observes systematic differences (cultural, gender, age, education), and investigates algorithms and testing procedures. 

Julia is one of the few coordinators of a Horizon2020 project associated with a university of applied sciences in Germany (and Europe). In 2015, University Kiel awarded her the prize for Innovative and Trendsetting Teaching, and in 2019, she won the Genius Loci-Preis, together with the Coburger Weg team.
